Overview

The Concerning Behavior on Campus Team (CBCT) is here to support the safety and well-being of our campus community. This multi-disciplinary team works together to assess and address concerning behaviors that may impact students, staff, and the broader campus environment.

By examining various aspects of an individual’s life—academic, work, social, family, and personal— CBCT aims to understand and manage situations where there may be a risk to self or others. The team’s approach is based on analyzing actions, communications, and circumstances that could indicate potential harm.

Our Purpose

CBCT’s priority is your safety. We review and respond to concerning behaviors with tailored strategies:

  • Safety First: Our top priority is maintaining a safe campus environment.
  • Proactive Response: We develop strategies to manage and reduce risks associated with threatening behaviors.
  • Comprehensive Support: For serious threats, we coordinate a full response, including referrals to support services, disciplinary actions, or law enforcement if necessary.
  • Resource Connection: For less severe concerns, we connect individuals with the right campus or community resources to help them thrive.

What We Do

  • Situational Assessment: We assess and respond to referrals to ensure appropriate action is taken.
  • Student and Staff Support: We provide case management, support, and referrals for students and staff, with continuous monitoring and management plans as needed.
