Solutions not sides: Creating peace amidst chaos with Lisa Daroux-Cole

This session offers a brave and compassionate space for solutions-focused discussion, active listening and conflict resolution.

The EDIA Conversations that Matter help create a welcoming space where people feel empowered to exchange and speak courageously with their mind and heart. According to Maya Angelou, courage is the most important of all virtues because, without courage, we can’t practice any other virtue consistently.

The goals of the Conversations that Matter Series are:

  • To provide space for monthly EDIA conversations that matter to our community members
  • To facilitate respectful and inclusive dialogues about EDIA that centre the voices and experiences of all equity-deserving individuals, groups and their allies
  • To educate our campus communities about EDIA principles and values
  • To adopt a common language to strengthen our understanding and commitment to EDIA
  • To learn about EDIA best practices and tools to support our EDIA work and engagement
  • To introduce the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and share how you can contribute as part of this work
