Irina Dovbischuk
BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Irina Dovbischuk holds an associate professorship in International Business and Supply Chain Management at the Bissett School of Business since 2023 and she was a Canada Research Chair Tier II nominee in 2024. Previously, she served as a full professor in logistics management at IU International University of Applied Sciences (Germany). Since 2014, she has been acting as the co-founder and managing director of the Asian-German Knowledge Network for Transport and Logistics e.V. (Germany). Additionally, she has been a visiting professor at two Ukrainian universities for several years: Uman National University of Horticulture and National Economic University named after V. Hetman. From April 2015 until March 2016, she held an interim professorship in Business Administration, Maritime Business, and Logistics at the University of Bremen (Germany), where she earned her Ph.D. with the distinction summa cum laude in June 2014.
RESEARCH AND SCHOLARLY WORK
Dr. Dovbischuk research interests revolve around resilient and socially sustainable Global Value Chains (GVC). She amalgamates insights from supply chain and logistics management, international business, and regional and development studies to explore strategies for fostering social sustainability in GVCs, emphasizing information exchange mechanisms and factors that enhance GVC resilience in times of disruption.
