BIOGRAPHY
While the primary focus of Ryan's teaching is in the areas of Strategy and International Business, his research interests extend into the field of Organizational Studies, with a specific interest in issues of legitimacy and the role of rhetoric in initiating profound institutional change in a variety of empirical contexts.
Previously, Ryan was a member of faculty at the School of Management at the University of St Andrews in the UK. At St Andrews and held the following posts: Teaching Fellow, Academic Director of the International Business Masters program and Warden of St Leonard's College. He has a BA (Honors) in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario, a Masters in Management, Economics and Politics and a PhD in Management from the University of St Andrews. Prior to pursuing a career in academia, he led an education advocacy group in Ontario and later ran public and government affairs for a major Canadian industry association.
